BB GLOW

WHAT IS BB GLOW TREATMENT?

BB Glow treatments support your skin with a BB serum and micro-channeling process, the ingredients are naturally made. The BB ampoule serum is applied to your skin with a Dermapen, and a single-use disposable Nano needle cartridge to penetrate the skin.

BB Glow at Ivonne Sanchez Beauty is not mesotherapy, and it is not microneedling. BB Glow is a permanent makeup application with the aim at delivering long-lasting skin foundation effects. Over the course of  3 or 4 treatments spaced one week apart the ampoule is built up in the skin. Because the delivery method uses microneedling approaches clients may achieve some of the benefits associated with microneedling, but this is not the aim of this service.

Using a single treatment modality your skin can achieve both the desired long-lasting pigment while minimizing trauma to the skin.

The BB Glow glow skin process may improve the complexion of your skin by clearing and unclogging your pores. At the same time, it may also be a factor in supporting growth of new skin cells, and this makes your skin appear brighter, reducing the appearance of aging skin cells.

HOW LONG DOES BB GLOW LAST?

There are some immediate results due to light-reflecting particles, with a full
treatment program the effects can last 3 to 4 months. It is recommended to have 1 session each week for up to 4 weeks to achieve maximum effect.

WHO IS GLOW BB FOR?

As with other forms of permanent makeup and skincare treatments BB Glow benefits those who are interested in resolving superficial skin concerns, like skin tone evenness or to increase their glow.

WHO SHOULD NOT TRY BB GLOW?

Anyone with undiagnosed skin conditions, active breakouts, infection or allergies related to the ingredients should not have BB Glow.

Most importantly, BB Glow should never be used to cover up acne, acne scarring, moles, unknown skin conditions or uncertain marks. BB Glow is for healthy skin where there are no outstanding or undiagnosed medical concerns.

Using BB Glow to camouflage unknown spots, or marks puts clients at risk of undetected skin conditions, or worse.  BB Glow should only ever be used after you have consulted with your primary physician, who is the owner of your master health care plan.

*Note: Health Canada registration of BB Glow products or related equipment is not approval for combining pigmentation with skincare.  We are unaware of any Canadian-based medical support for combining cosmetic application of pigment with skin therapy.

WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS AND RISKS - IS BB GLOW SAFE?

Because BB Glow is a new and unfamiliar service to many beauty salons and Permanent Makeup Clinics not all professionals have been trained in correct protocols.

RISK OF BLURRED OR ASHY LOOK

BB Glow is nOt designed for use below the dermis. Causing the pigment to be injected too deeply will result in a permanent tattoo result, which is the opposite of what is intended and may require laser removal.  To avoid this BB Glow should not be injected or microchanneled beneath the junction of the epidermal and dermal layers.

The process is loosely based on US-based FDA Approved Skin Reconstructive System, which engages with skin while it may produce collagen and elastin in the inner layer.

There is no guarantee as to what side effects may occur when skincare modalities are combined with pigmentation process. One method aims to support the skin's ability to restore its natural look, the other aims to change the skin's tone and colour for an extended period of time.

As BB Glow is considered to be a form of micropigmentation or tattoo the Public Health Ontario advises on the associated risks with inserting needles into the skin and injecting dyes or inks:

  1. Infection risk: Tattooing induces physical damage to the skin, which may cause or promote infections if microorganisms are introduced under the skin during the process. The potential sources of microorganisms include:

    - Tap water used to dilute the ink.
    - Contaminated and/or improperly reprocessed equipment or ink
    - Client’s own bacteria on the skin.
    - Unclean hands touching the treatment area.

Potential infections can be caused by bacteria (e.g., Mycobacterium spp. or Staphylococcus aureus), fungi (e.g., Candida endophthalmitis), or even viruses (e.g., human immunodeficiency virus [HIV], hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus).  There have been outbreaks of bacterial infection (non-tuberculous mycobacterial) caused by ink that was contaminated prior to distribution. Such bacterial infection can cause several diseases such as lung disease, joint infection, eye problems, and other organ infections.

HOW IS BB GLOW DIFFERENT THAN
MICRONEEDLING?

Microneedling is a mesotherapy that aims to restore the skin's natural complexion using supporting serums and therapeutic processes.

BB Glow is a more superficial approach with the objective of covering over and evening out the skin's tone using pigments. This approach is mainly cosmetic.

In short, Microneedling is more therapeutic where BB Glow is only cosmetic.
