The Ultimate Back-to-School Skin-Care Guide

Back to School Skincare IVONNE

Going back to school may look different this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but as you begin to prepare everything you need before heading back to Zoom meetings or a socially distanced on-campus class, don’t forget about taking care of your body’s largest organ, too. Adding a few crucial skin-care products to your shopping list can help you achieve and maintain dewy skin that will have you looking good whether you’re behind a mask or a laptop screen. Below, you’ll find a checklist to help get you started.

Back-to-School Skin-Care Item #1: Cleanser

Pushing your skin-care routine to the side may be tempting as you get busy working from home this fall, but trust us when we tell you that it’s a bad habit to start. We’re not saying your routine requires ten or more steps, but you should make sure to wash your face morning and night. Doing so can help remove dirt, oil and impurities that have accumulated onto the skin throughout the day, before they have a chance to wreak havoc. When choosing a cleanser, keep your skin type in mind, as well as your specific skin concerns. There’s no shortage of options out there, so be sure to choose wisely. We recommend the AnteAGE Cleanser for all Skin Types or the AlumierMD Hydraboost Cleanser  for dry skin.

Back-to-School Skin-Care Item #2: Facial Moisturizer

After cleansing your skin, adding moisture back is essential. Moisturizing daily can not only help hydrate your skin, it can also help it feel soft and appear supple and plump with moisture. Try the AlumierMD HydraLight formulated with niacinamide and aloe to help keep stress pimples and redness at bay.

Back-to-School Skin-Care Item #3: Sunscreen (Yes, even if you’re wearing a mask!)

The sun never takes a break during the day, and neither should your defense against it. Continue to apply broad-spectrum SPF 15 or higher onto all exposed areas of skin before heading outdoors, by a window or anywhere where the sun hits.  No matter where you are, reapply at least every two hours. Keep in mind that there’s currently no sunscreen on the market that can fully protect your skin against harmful UV rays, so pairing your applications with other sun protection measures, such as seeking shade and wearing protective clothing, is highly, highly encouraged if you decide to bring your homework outdoors. We love the AlumierMD Sheer Hydration Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF40 for this.
