There are 3 shades of BB cream tones available – light, medium and dark. The closest shade is selected or mixed to perfection and then penetrated under the skin using a micro-needing device. The skin may appear slightly pink afterwards.
When a client arrives for the service they’ll receive a topical numbing cream. Within 15-30 minutes the skin will be comfortably numbed. Using a PMU, Microneedling or a Meso Pen the BB Cream ampoule will be gently massaged into the skin with a 12 point disposable cartridge. The results: a healthy-looking glow, evening out the tone and texture.
The process takes about 1 hour and is virtually pain-free! The needle depth is quite shallow and definitely avoids the dermis. The depth is 0.1 mm at IVONNE though some professionals will offer it at 0.2 to 0.5mm. Once the area is treated the process is set with a mask. The client may see some flaking or redness over the next 24 to 72 hours. The BB Cream will eventually slough off after several months as the natural cycle of skin shedding occurs.
The point of BB Cream Ampoule is that it be applied superficially to the outer most layers of the skin. While the process of microneedling as a skincare treatment is aimed at having therapeutic benefits by contrast BB Glow treatment is aimed at offering only cosmetic benefits. That BB Glow is applied using a microneedling process does not mean that clients will receive the full benefit of microneedling as the BB Ampoule is being applied very superficially. That’s not to say that there won’t be any benefits from microneedling, but that it’s simply not the goal. BB Glow is about covering up the skin, as that is the purpose behind foundation application. The benefits of BB Glow are in the convenience of not having to apply foundation every day. Freeing up your time!
